HIKING IN THE DOLOMITES - KARERSEE NEAR WELSCHNOFEN (NOVA LEVANTE)
For nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts, Lake Carezza is the ultimate destination in the Dolomites. At the foot of Rosengarten (Catinaccio) and Latemar, over 530 kilometres of marked trails wind through alpine meadows, forests, and dramatic mountain terrain.
Experience a hiking holiday in the heart of the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park. Chris Appart is located near Lake Carezza (Karersee) – one of South Tyrol's most famous mountain lakes. The turquoise waters change colour throughout the day, reflecting Rosengarten and Latemar at dawn and dusk, earning it the name "Rainbow Lake." A scenic circular trail encircles the lake, and additional walking paths begin directly at our doorstep.
Ambitious hikers can set off on mountain tours directly from Chris Appart. The Rosengarten massif is renowned for its spectacular routes and the famous Enrosadira phenomenon – when the peaks glow fiery red at sunset. Carezza Ski Area
SKIING HOLIDAY IN THE DOLOMITES AT LAKE CAREZZA NEAR WELSCHNOFEN
A winter holiday at Lake Carezza means skiing, sledging, and snowshoeing against a breathtaking Dolomite backdrop. Just a short distance from Chris Appart lies the Carezza ski area with 16 lifts and 40 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes. With an average of eight hours of sunshine per day in winter, Carezza is one of the sunniest ski resorts in South Tyrol. The area is also part of the "Alpine Climate Ski Resorts" project – making it one of the most sustainable places to ski in the region.
Families and leisure skiers will find their perfect winter escape at Lake Carezza. Beyond skiing, the snow-covered landscape offers wonderful winter walks, snowshoe excursions, sleigh rides, and cross-country skiing. The Christmas season is particularly magical here. From late November, the circular path around Lake Carezza is cleared and festively illuminated. Wooden huts resembling oversized lanterns, snow and ice sculptures, and traditional South Tyrolean products transform the Christmas market at Lake Carezza into a unique Advent experience.
